We recommend books for the overall help they give on the issue which they address. It is impossible to find books to recommend with which we agree with every detail, other than the Bible. Our church is Baptist, Reformed, 5 Point Calvinist, Fundamental, Pre-Millennial and Separatist. Not all of the following authors of recommended books hold to all of our theology. In recommending certain books that in no way means or implies that we endorse every other book by that author or every other theological position or ecclesiastical affiliation of that author.
Our recommendation of that author's book is a "highly qualified" recommendation. For example, many of the Puritans did not separate from the apostate church of England. They viewed themselves as Elijah living in apostate Israel under godless Ahab. They considered it their duty to stay in and preach against the sin and false theology of their state church. We Separatists, on the other hand, believe in coming out of apostate churches and preaching against their sin and false theology from the outside. While some of the Puritans may have differed with us on separation we can still benefit from their sound biblical reasoning on other subjects like justification and sanctification.
We do not support or endorse the practice of neo-evangelicals who in one way or another link arms with apostates, Charismatics or liberals. Many neo-evangelicals misguidedly believe that they can expand their ministry for truth by linking arms with those who deny essential Christian doctrine. However, many neo-evangelicals are genuine Christians and offer excellent well researched resources supporting essential Christian doctrines, such as the deity of Christ, His bodily resurrection, the inerrancy of the Bible or by exposing various cults.
