PRINCIPLES FOR RESOLVING CONFLICT

1. Eph 4:1-3: “Work with all your might to keep unity.”
2. Eph 4:25-27: “Unresolved conflict gives the devil an opening.”
3. Eph 4:29-32: “Choose to put division away and forgive.”
4. Eph 6:10-18: “Division IS a satanic attack.” Use your armor!
1. Belt – Get the truth. Satan is the father of lies.
2. Breastplate – Act righteously toward each other.
3. Boots – Will my action lead other people to Christ?
4. Shield – Trust God’s plan even if yours seems better.
5. Sword – Discover the clear teaching of God’s Word on the issue and follow it.
6. PRAY! – In a spiritual war, use spiritual weapons.
5. Col 3:12-13: “Show humility and forgiveness.”
6. Gal 5:19-20: “Disunity is a work of our sin nature.”
7. Gal 6:1-2: “Restore each other gently, like setting a bone.”
8. Mt 7:1-5: “Don’t expect perfection. Deal with your own faults.”
9. 1 Cor 11:17-19: “Restoring relationships proves we are saved.”
10. 1 Cor 1:10, 3:1-3: “Division is sin & carnal.”
11. Titus 3:9-11: “Divisive people are sinful and to be rejected.”
12. Deal with conflict one issue at a time.
13. Resolve conflict before you go to bed.
14. Do not allow conflict to “sit”, it will only grow out of proportion.
15. Once the conflict has been addressed and confessed, forgive and do not bring it up again
